It depends on your plan. Family and Storyteller plans support up to 5 characters per book — a hero plus 4 co-stars (siblings, parents, grandparents, pets). The Starter plan supports a hero plus 2 co-stars. Free accounts support the hero plus up to 4 co-stars as well. The AI keeps everyone visually consistent across all pages.

Hit the Regenerate button on any page — it redraws just that one illustration without touching the rest of the book. Free accounts get 3 regenerations per page. Paid plans get unlimited regenerations, so you can keep clicking until every page is perfect.

Absolutely! All accounts — including free — include a "Write my own story" option where you describe any story idea in a sentence or two. Our AI will turn it into a full personalized book. You can use it right away without a subscription.

There are three art styles to choose from: Watercolor Storybook (soft, warm, classic picture-book look), 3D Animated (rounded, bright, modern animated-movie style), and Flat Modern (bold shapes, limited palette, contemporary picture-book feel). All three styles are available on every account, including free.

Yes. In the book viewer, tap "Edit text" on any page to change the wording directly. Use "Quick Redraw" to regenerate the illustration using the current text, or "Custom Redraw" to write specific instructions that guide exactly what appears in that page's image.

Story Club is our main subscription plan ($19.99/month or $199/year). Each month you receive 2 book credits that can be used to unlock any completed digital book. Unused credits roll over each month while your subscription stays active. If you cancel, any unused credits can still be used through the end of your current billing period, then they expire.

Yes! You can unlock any single book for a one-time $14.99 payment. This gives you all 18 illustrated pages, PDF and EPUB download, and the shareable web link — no ongoing subscription needed. Story Club members use their monthly credits instead of paying per book.

Yes! Switch to annual billing on the pricing page to save about 17% — Story Club is $199 per year instead of $19.99 per month. You can choose monthly or annual when you subscribe, and the pricing page has a toggle to compare both.

Yes! Paid plans include a print-ready PDF you can take to any print shop. You can also order a professionally printed copy directly through the site — a premium color 8.5×8.5 saddle-stitch storybook printed and shipped to your door. Open any completed book and click the print order button. Story Club members receive a discounted print price. Currently available for US addresses.

After you complete checkout your book is automatically formatted for professional printing and sent into production. Printed books are made to order and typically arrive about 3 weeks after purchase (printing plus shipping). You will receive an email confirmation once your order is placed. Currently available for US addresses only.

Yes. When creating a book you pick an age range — Ages 2–4, 5–7, or 8–10 — and the AI tunes the vocabulary and story complexity to match. A toddler book uses simple, repetitive language while an 8–10 book can have a real plot with a challenge and resolution.

Yes! Our Gift page lets you order a handcrafted library of 5, 10, or 15 personalized books as a gift — perfect for expecting grandparents, baby showers, or milestone birthdays. You share the photos and story memories, our team creates the books, and two printed copies of each are shipped to the addresses you provide.

When you delete a book that you previously exported, the site will automatically return one export credit to your account (a "do-over") if you still have do-over credits available for the month. Starter members get 1 do-over per month, Story Club members get 3, and free accounts do not get do-overs. The delete confirmation in your library will tell you if a credit will be returned.

Yes! Once you create a character, they are saved to your character library and you can add them to as many new books as you like. Just pick them from your saved characters when starting a new story. Free accounts can save up to 5 characters; Story Club and other paid plans raise that limit significantly.

Nothing is deleted. All your books and characters stay in your library forever, and any book you have already completed remains fully readable and shareable via its link. After your billing period ends, free-tier limits apply to creating new books, but your existing completed books are safe.

Yes! Every book gets a custom AI-designed cover featuring your child, with a title treatment styled to match the story's theme and art style rather than a generic template frame. Covers are included automatically on every book, digital and printed — no extra steps needed.

Yes! Click "Share with family" on any book to get a link. Anyone can tap through the full book on their phone — no account, no app, no download required. It also shows a nice preview when texted via iMessage or WhatsApp.
